I like several of the items posted thus far (in particular, a class browser, 'watch' functionality in a browser, and the embedded element enhancement).
Of course I had to add some new ones though...
1. Talk to Ben, buy Midas, incorporate Midas classes into native NotesRichText classes
2. Enhancements to the notes:// syntax : Now that Notes 6 will render pass-thru HTML, developers can create computed hotspots anywhere on the form via <a href . However, this is somewhat limited, as it only works for document UNIDs. I would like to see the addition of parameters to match the Domino URL commands -- e.g. /viewName/keyName?OpenDocument. Bonus is, the same link would work in both Notes and Domino. Nice.
3. Default app settings:
- Action Bar Settings (see
): In short , a design element to house 'default action bar settings' for a given .nsf. The element would allow the developer to select which views, forms, pages, etc. are exempt from using the default style. All other forms/views/pages/etc. in that .nsf would use the default action bar settings. Something is definitely needed to copy/apply action bar settings from one element to another.
- starter forms: This idea is to allow the creation of starter forms in an .nsf. The starter forms would serve as a template when creating a new form. When creating a new form, a Designer would select the appropriate starter form from a listbox/picklist (much like when creating a new document in Word/WordPro/you get the idea).
- starter views: Same idea as the forms, but might be more important than forms. Would allow for setting 'standard' column fonts, colours, header fonts, backgrounds, twisties, etc.
Of course the starter forms and views could be implemented somewhat in the current designer (the views/forms could exist in a starter .nsf, etc.). That said, I think it would be beneficial to have as part of the product. This would help design standards efforts (for both those that already have design standards, and those that haven't implemented them yet).
Thanks for asking! I appreciate the opportunity.
